In February, at the Munich Security Summit, US vice-president JD Vanceβs speech took up the spotlight.
He lambasted the changing position and behavior of Western democracies and what many believe is democracy going in reverse. One of the examples Vance used was Romania canceling the presidential elections after Calin Georgescu, a right-leaning candidate, surged to first place. Now, weeks later, Romania has banned Georgescu from seeking higher office.
But, last month, at almost the same time Vance made his remarks, a separate set of provocative statements were made, that should open the eyes of many.
