๐ช๐บ๐ต Is Europe Preparing to Rebel Against the Dollar?
As Trump unleashes chaos, Europe eyes de-dollarization
Most global stakeholders are trying to stay on top of the massive shocks that Trump is unleashing on the world. When it comes to trade, for example, much of the spotlight is on April 2nd, what Trumpโs camp has referred to as โLiberation Day,โ as America prepares to unleash massive tariffs on nations without further delays or pauses (like the 30-day exemption Trump gave Canada and Mexico in February, and then again, in March).
If Trump does not concede or walk back, his ideas could reshape global trade.
But now, alongside the direct steps the US is taking, there are the shockwaves that are starting to materialize, each of which brings with it complex and disruptive geopolitics.
One of these shockwaves, or in the eyes of Washington, blowback effects, is the changing outlook in Europe towards the US dollar as Trump raises the heat on Brussels from tariffs to security.
